Esthetician Course: 20 Units or 600 Hours
Our objective is to offer you a comprehensive and highly developed Course of Study in Esthetics and to provide
you with the skills necessary to become a licensed Esthetician in the State of Colorado.
In recent years, the public
has become more interested in the health and beauty of their skin. This course will take the student through all of the
necessary skills needed to obtain employment in Spa's, Salons, and Doctor and Dermatologists offices.

We train the students to do specialty treatments such as:
- Salt glows
- Self-tanning
- Body polishing
- Balneotheapy
- Hydrotherapy
Therapeutic mud is utilized for cellulite treatments, which require detoxification and a special nutritional
diet. The student will learn various massage techniques to meet the needs of the client in an advanced classroom.
Upon
successful completion of the Esthetician Course and graduation, the student will receive an Esthetician Diploma that may lead
to a career as an assistant to a Dermatologist or Plastic surgeon, a Makeup Artist, Skin Care Specialist, Instructor, Beauty
Editor, Trade Technician, Direct Sales Demonstrator, Manager, or Cosmetic Buyer.
ESTHETICIAN THEORY CLASSES:
Theory classes will be given on a regularly scheduled
basis of at least 5 hours per week. Theory class schedules are subject to minor change at any time by the discretion of the
administration. Written tests are given at the end of each Unit or Chapter of which a minimum grade of 85% must be achieved.
UNITS OF INSTRUCTION:
- Facial/skin care 7 units (210 hours)
- Facial Makeup 1 unit (30 hours)
- Hair Removal 3 units (90 hours)
- Laws, Rules & Regulations 1 unit (30 hours)
- Management, Ethics, & Interpersonal Skills/Salesmanship 1 unit (30 hours)
- Disinfection, Sanitation, Safe work Practices 7 units (210 hours)
Total 20 units or
600 hours
Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peel certification is included.
ESTHETICIAN CLINIC/PRACTICAL
CLASSES
Clinic classes in which students perform services upon the public are supervised by a Licensed/Credentialed
Instructor, which provides hands on learning experience for the practical application of Esthetician. A practical grade is
given for each service performed and becomes half of the final grade. These grades are given according to industry standards.
The
student will be required to complete 120 hours of freshman training and pass all required operations and tests before graduating
to the clinic floor. The clinic floor will give the student the opportunity to practice on clients under the supervision of
a Certified/Licensed Instructor.
The student will be evaluated daily for Satisfactory Academic Progress in Theory and
Practical classes and activities in all areas required for successful completion of the course. When a student is not with
a client, he/she will have daily assignments to achieve levels of competency in areas needed to achieve their practical and
theory requirements. These assignments may include any of the following:

- Lash and Brow Tinting
- Artificial Lashes
- Waxing
- Advanced European Massage
- Makeup
- Acupressure Massage
- Facial stone massage
- Book/Magazine Reports
- Practice on models
- Field Trips
- Lymphatic Drainage Massage
When a student reaches 510 hours of training, they graduate to the senior level and begin practicing for
State Board Procedures & taking final examinations. A student must reach an 85% competency in all final practical and
written tests to graduate and receive a diploma.

- Chemical Peel and Microdermabrasion Manuals
- Skin Care Beyond the Basic by Mark Lees
The school also maintains an extensive library of reference books and videos. Worksheets are used at the
discretion of the Instructor for some chapters and the students particpate on periodical fieldtrips and educational shows.
The students are also encouraged to have job interviews while using a form supplied to them with a list of questions and required
information they will need to obtain from prospective employers. This gives the student an opportunity to interview and seek
out jobs prior to graduation. Guest speakers, product representatives, salon managers/owners are encouraged to give speeches
and demonstrations of new products, job opportunities, and new trends in the industry.
